Mountain Eagle Place was established in 1999 by the late Grandmother Mountain Eagle Woman who dedicated her life to teaching, by example, the power, beauty and grace of the divine femine in the indigenous woman. She would always say that the mother is the backbone of the people, if she walks barefoot on the earth and uses here hands and songs to nurture the earth the mother can help bring forth the herbs for healing of the family and the nation. Men are the fence around the garden and the women are within. If the mother is not connected to her womb, if she not protected and respected her dreams will become dry birth, and the people will wither like dry leaves and die. You can always know how civilized a nation is by the condition of its women. |

For sixty years, Grandmother Mountain Eagle Woman committed her life to teaching the importance of prayer, marriage, kindness, art and the practice of traditional Native American ways. Grandmother Eagle always said your culture will save you when nothing else can. She gladly shared her loving medicine with the relatives and left her daughter as teacher and lodge keeper of the land, Mama Nataaska Hasan Humminbird, and her grandson as chief fire keeper. |
